I am currently working on a project that needs major input, and you guys seem to be the right group in which this project/idea can gain movement
With the news a while ago that Icelandic citizens jailed their corrupt bankers & politicians who played a major part in the global banking crisis, and rewrote their entire constitution through the power of social media; I think its' time that we in the UK followed their example.
Below is an outline of something I cooked up a few months ago, and really need the expertise and help of others to build & strengthen it further.
WE THE PEOPLE of the United Kingdom of Great Britain; recognise our sovereign right to create a fair, just, and prosperous society where every person has equal opportunity regardless of differences. We recognise that it is our sovereign right & moral duty alone to uphold our core freedoms such as liberty, equality, justice, expression, and democracy.
We recognise the inherent dignity & inalienable rights of all members of the human family, whether at home or internationally, is the foundation of freedom, justice, and peace. Our aspiration is to create a society that is free from fear, oppression, and inhumane acts.
We acknowledge that ‘True’ Democracy is the will/power of the people, and not only the expression of the people. We declare that true power belongs to the people themselves, as sovereign beings, and we renounce our consent towards other forms of power over the people. With this renouncement of our consent; we ratify the creation of a new representative body of, by, and for the people.
Under this new Charter, the Head of State (the present Monarch) will retain all their current constitutional powers, as well as their roles within society to enhance our overall position in the world. They will also be bound by Royal Prerogative, where they retain their three rights – the right to be consulted, the right to encourage, and the right to warn.
This new representative body will be held fully accountable to the people themselves, and are bound by both this Charter & future Parliamentary legislation to act ONLY in the interests of the people they represent. They will never be allowed to amend or repeal any/all parts of this Charter, the only people allowed to carry out such changes shall be WE THE PEOPLE ourselves through a fully public vote.
The new “People’s Parliament” will serve to enhance the prosperity & welfare of all citizens of this nation, encourage & inspire the co-operative cohesion of the differing cultures in our society, and to respect the diversity of life of people, the country, and the environment.
The new “People’s Parliament” will seek to promote harmony, security, and happiness amongst present and future generations. We are determined to work towards peace with our extended families internationally, respect & understanding for the Earth, and to promote the evolution of human society in balance with Nature.
In light of the above, WE THE PEOPLE approve of this new Charter, and the articles within.
